Thinking, Fast and Slow
Thinking, Fast and Slow is a thought provoking read that describes the different ‘systems’ of thinking that govern our actions. One system drives intuition and rapid-fire pattern seeking, and another analyzes, reflects, and attempts to think statistically. Human bias is explained to the reader by describing the thought process and execution of various experiments conducted by the author, Kahneman.
My big takeaway from the book is that we need to be wary of how our minds process information and make decisions. Knowing the fallacies that we’re susceptible to is the first step to avoid them. Nobody is perfect, but we could all probably do with some slower thinking.
I’d recommend this book to people interested in reading about human biases, psychology experiments, or in depth explanations of how people think, and why they think that way.
